Iran’s Khayyam satellite put into orbit 

Khayyam was sent into space by a Russian Soyuz rocket which blasted off from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The satellite is remote-sensing and will send high-quality pictures four times a day for use in environmental and agricultural researches and monitoring of water resources.
